MC Centre

Top litigation firm MC’s brief for their new Auckland home was for staff to be assured they are operating out of the best work environment in Aotearoa. The new home for MC in Auckland is inspiring, set across two floors in the Manson’s 6 Green Star Building at 136 Fanshawe Street.

Occupying three zones across 5,500m², the hub of MC centres around some exciting concepts that promote collaboration and connection; a forest and terrarium, trees and neighbourhoods and a central atrium spanned by three bridges. Within the terrarium sits enclosed meeting rooms and standalone pods. Whakatā is expressed in a welcoming staff kitchen, café and lounge. MC are aiming for WELL certification, a first in New Zealand, with a targeted rating of Platinum.

Other unique features of this fitout are; a state-of-the-art AV system, all desks are wireless, sit to stand workstations, a full-size court room to train future lawyers, a 3MX5M big LED screen acting as messaging display, and original and commissioned art works from eight New Zealand artists.

TBIG’s scope of service included design management, value engineering, building consenting, main contractor procurement, programme management, reporting, and management of separate contractors for technology, AV, FF&E, planting and signage.

This project was complex, we worked with a large number of consultants from multiple disciplines plus we undertook many “firsts”, for example; seeking WELL certification, the development of the terrariums and our AV and IT requirements. Raji and Sam from TBIG were amazing.  They managed all of the consultants with their competing demands, they kept everyone informed and made sure we all met our deadlines.  They were over all the detail, and nothing was missed.  We couldn’t recommend the TBIG team highly enough.
